Fine Print Homes (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a product of RL Calculations, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our website at fineprint.homes and our contract analysis service (the “Service”).

By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

  • Contract Documents: When you upload a purchase agreement PDF for analysis, we receive the contents of that document. We do not permanently store your uploaded documents on our servers.
  • Payment Information: When you purchase a contract analysis report, your payment is processed by Stripe, Inc., our third-party payment processor. We do not directly collect, store, or have access to your full credit card number. Stripe’s handling of your payment information is governed by their privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Contact Information: If you contact us via email at fineprint.homes@gmail.com, we collect your email address and the contents of your communication.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: We may collect information about how you access and use the Service, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits.
  • Cookies: Our website uses essential cookies necessary for the functioning of the Service. We use Vercel Analytics for basic traffic metrics. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To Provide the Service: Your uploaded contract document is sent to our AI analysis provider (Anthropic) via their API to generate your contract analysis report. This is the core function of our Service.
  • To Process Payments: Your payment information is used by Stripe to process your $49 transaction.
  • To Communicate With You: If you contact us, we use your contact information to respond to your inquiries.
  • To Improve the Service: We may use aggregated, non-identifying usage data to understand how the Service is used and to make improvements.

We do NOT use your information to:

  • Train AI models. Your contract data is never used for AI training by us or our providers.
  • Sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
  • Send you marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.
  • Create user profiles or track you across other websites.

3. How Your Contract Data Is Processed

When you upload a contract for analysis, here is exactly what happens:

1Your PDF is uploaded to our server and the text is extracted in memory.
2The extracted text is sent via API to Anthropic (the company behind the Claude AI model) for analysis.
3Anthropic processes the text and returns the analysis results to our server.
4We generate your report and deliver it to you in your browser and as a downloadable PDF.
5Your uploaded PDF and extracted text are not permanently stored on our servers. Once your report is generated and delivered, the data is discarded from our system.

Regarding Anthropic’s data handling: Under Anthropic’s Commercial Terms of Service, Anthropic may not train models on customer content submitted through their API. Anthropic retains API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for safety and abuse monitoring purposes, after which the data is automatically deleted. Your contract data is treated as confidential under Anthropic’s commercial terms. For more details, see Anthropic’s Privacy Policy and their Commercial Terms.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Fine Print Homes:

  • Anthropic (Claude API): Processes your contract text to generate the analysis report. Data is retained for up to 30 days for safety monitoring, then deleted. Not used for AI training. See: anthropic.com/legal/privacy
  • Stripe: Processes payments. Collects and stores payment information under their own privacy policy. See: stripe.com/privacy
  • Vercel: Hosts our website. May collect basic server logs and analytics. See: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any other third parties.

5. Data Retention

  • Contract Documents: Not permanently stored on our servers. Discarded after report generation. Retained by Anthropic for up to 30 days per their data retention policy.
  • Payment Records: Stripe retains transaction records in accordance with their policies and applicable financial regulations.
  • Contact Communications: Emails and communications are retained as long as necessary to address your inquiry, then deleted.
  • Usage Data: Aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely in non-identifying form.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL (HTTPS).
  • API communications with Anthropic are encrypted in transit.
  • Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified.
  • We do not store sensitive financial information on our servers.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You may request information about what personal data we hold about you.
  • Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal data. Since we do not permanently store contract documents, most data is automatically removed.
  • Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Objection: You may object to our processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. State-Specific Disclosures

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of any sale (though we do not sell data). Maryland Residents: As a Maryland-based business, we comply with the Maryland Personal Information Protection Act and all applicable Maryland data protection requirements.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
